We are an educational institution focused on bringing leading edge information and training to our advisors. We do this because we believe that family businesses, regardless of size, deserve the best in service from the advisors they choose as partners.
To ensure that our advisors are keeping their skills fresh and have experience in applying those skills, we have introduced a certification process. The directory displays advisors who meet our most up-to-date criteria. If you feel you should be listed as a Galliard Certified Advisor but you’re not seeing a star in your directory profile, please check out the criteria for certification listed below or send us an email. We are here to help you to be the very best advisor you can be!
Step 1: Training
All certified advisors must complete the FBAC Training to learn the Galliard methodology. Select the certification track when you register for the training.
Members receive a 10% discount on all trainings and events (professional plan), so you might want to sign up at this time as well (that’s step 2).
Step 2: Membership
If you haven’t already, join our membership program at the Professional level or above to gain full access to the Resource Library and add your business card to our searchable directory.
As an FBAC graduate, you’ll get the FBAC symbol in your directory profile:
You will need to become a member to access the study assessment quiz (that’s step 3).
Step 3: Quiz
Complete the online study assessment quiz. The passing score is 70% or higher. It’s best to take the quiz soon after the FBAC training while the information is still fresh.
Step 4: Practice
Work with a client and lead them through a process to develop and implement a “baby step” action plan. You may use our tools, your tools, or their tools – but use some process that helps you to determine their needs and expectations, build trust and move to the next stage of engagement.
Step 5: Case Study
Write and submit a brief case study to info@galliardinstitute.org using the criteria below. We’ll review the project with you, offering ideas, discussing what worked and what didn’t and suggest ways to continue to build your practice.
Prepare to answer the following questions in your case study:
- How did you determine the client’s need?
- How did you build trust?
- How did you clarify your role and the client’s expectations?
- What or how did you assess the current situation (use of a tool or assessment or other?)
- What was the action taken – what kind of plan was developed?
- How was it implemented?
- What was the short-term outcome?
- What is the intended long-term outcome?
- How will you maintain momentum with this client?
- What other professionals did you include on this project – or whom might you include in the future?
- What did you learn from this experience? What did you do well? What might you change or enhance in the future?
Step 6: Celebrate!
Once your case study is complete and has been reviewed and discussed, we’ll invite you to join our growing team of certified advisors. We’ll send you a certificate for your wall and all the materials for your own press party. We’ll get the word out about your accomplishment through our social media network, and add a special designation to your listing in the searchable directory.
